(заглавие драмы А. Пушкина - 1830 г.) Der steinerne Gast (Titel eines Dramas von A. Puschkin; in Deutschland ist der Ausdruck aus dem Libretto der Mozartschen Oper "Don Giovanni" (1787) bekannt, dem das Drama "Der Verehrer von Sevilla, oder Der steinerne Gast" von Tirso de Molina zugrunde liegt). Der steinerne Gast ist das Standbild auf dem Grabe eines Komturs, den Don Juan erstochen hat. In seinem Übermut lädt er es einmal zum Abendessen ein; der steinerne Gast erscheint, fordert Don Juan zur Reue auf und überliefert ihn - als dieser sich uneinsichtig zeigt - durch einen Händedruck der Hölle. Der Ausdruck wird heute in zweierlei Bedeutung verwendet: als scherzhafte Bezeichnung:2) für eine Person, die einen überaus starken Händedruck hat. -
